Parks & Trails
Horizon Pointe residents enjoy a city maintained park right within the neighborhood. There are also several playgrounds within the neighborhood. There are many other great parks and trails just a short drive away. Here are just a few options:
This 9.5 acre park is located right in the middle of the Horizon Pointe neighborhood and offers a playground, picnic shelter, basketball court, and soccer fields. More info: http://www.nthurston.k12.wa.us/timberline
This 8.5 acre park is located just down the road from Horizon Pointe. It features playground equipment, picnic shelters, and fields. It is also the site of Lacey’s annual 4th of July firework display.
A sprawling 46 acre park complete with playgrounds, picnic shelters, basketball court, soccer fields, baseball fields, volleyball courts, tennis courts, a skate park, and trails.
A paved 22 mile long trail spanning from Woodard Bay to the Yelm-Tenino trail. There is easy access to this local gem from just outside of the Horizon Pointe neighborhood and it is a great place to walk, run, ride a bike or rollerblade.
Shopping & Dining
There are endless opportunities for shopping and dining in the greater Lacey/Olympia area. However, Horizon Pointe residents need not travel far for most of their needs. Grocery shopping is just a short distance away with both Safeway and QFC conveniently nearby. Home improvement needs can also be satisfied just down the road from Horizon Pointe at Lowe’s Home Improvement Center. Other familiar brands you’ll find near Horizon Pointe include Starbucks Coffee, McDonalds, RiteAid Subway, Baskin Robbins and Burger King.
Some excellent dining options are very close to Horizon Pointe. Hop Jacks offers a wide menu and full bar. Farelli’s Pizza offers pizzas, pastas, calzones and a full bar. Fire Creek Grill offers great meals and full bar. The Mayan Restaurant is a great place for Mexican fare. Puccini’s Venetian Subs is a great stop-off for lunch or you can check out Daddy O’s Burger Drive Up. Several excellent options for teriyaki, sushi, pho, and other Asian cuisine area available as well.
The greater Olympia/Lacey area has several public golf courses to choose from, catering to a variety of different skill levels and budgets. The closest course, however, actually borders the Horizon Pointe neighborhood on the north. Capitol City Golf Club is a high quality 18 hole public course for golfers of all abilities. Rates begin as low as $11 for 9 holes and $18 for 18 holes. Power cart rentals are available and there is a driving range, practice bunker and putting green to polish your skills.
